UV Sun Damage Causes Eye Disease

Sun damage to eyes is implicated in a number of eye conditions.

You can reduce your likelihood of these conditions by wearing sunglasses and a broad brim hat when outdoors.

The skin around your eyes is just as likely to get melanoma as anywhere else on the body. It is hard to apply sunscreen close to the eyes because it will run into your eyes and make your eyes sting. Wear sunnies instead.

Sunglasses also reduce the drying out of your eyes in windy conditions. They serve as eye protectors against projectiles when mowing the lawn, or fishing.
