Preventing Cataracts
- What You Can Do

People often ask me about preventing cataracts. Follow these easy steps to maintaining your clarity as long as possible:

  1. Wear Sunglasses when outdoors
  2. Wear a broad brimmed hat outdoors
  3. Drink plenty of water
  4. Eat a healthy diet with lots of vegetables and fruit (antioxidants are the key to slowing down aging!)
  5. Avoid some medications - where possible - such as steroids (ask your doctor about the side effects and alternatives)

Controversial new methods

There are some cataract eyedrops available over the internet that claim to slow down and delay the onset of cataract. As yet there is little independant research verifying the inventor's claims. Watch this space for more information on this intriguing new development.
