Single Vision glasses lenses are lenses with a single prescription, designed for a single purpose.
If you have difficulties focussing on objects at far distances (myopia), Single Vision lenses will assist you to see clearly and carry out activities such as driving and playing sport with confidence. If you are under 40 years old, you will also be able to see at close distances with these glasses lenses on.
If you only have trouble focussing on objects up close, Single Vision Lenses will help you see clearly for tasks such as reading and needlework.
If your eyes need help at both far and close distances and especially if you are over 40, then Single Vision Lenses may not be your best choice.
Extended Focus Lenses expand the range of reading glasses, so that you can view 2 main distances, such as computers at 80cm and reading matter at 40cm. Or see your computer and the customer on the other side of your desk, without having to take your glasses off, or rudely look down your nose at the customer.
Progressive Lenses are able to help you see at all distances. These are often the best choice for multipurpose glasses.
